Summer hires: Rising Sophomores with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher who are either engineering or business majors may apply. Students are hired as support staff to assist in the field or corporate office during their summer break. The roles they perform, or their college major, are not required to align with the identified strategic university recruiting needs. The Summer Hire period is a minimum of 10 weeks, beginning June 4, 2018 and ending Mid- August.

Job description:

•Walk down each site including store rooms, storage areas and operating areas to identify and documents chemicals and quantities on hand.

•Inventory products and chemicals on site

•Audit 3E to ensure that all items that are identified are catalogued in the system

•Obtain and submit SDS’s for items not in the system

•Identify any products that have not gone through approval for review by Environmental, Health and Safety

•Identify any products on site that are no longer in use for removal and proper disposal

•Complete a NYS required 209U form for each location.

As an employee of PSE&G or PSEG Long Island, you should be aware that during storm restoration efforts, you may be required to perform functions outside of your routine duties and on a schedule that may be different from normal operations.

EH&S Specialist – Safety and Environmental Compliance – Stony Brook University

The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Specialist for Environmental Compliance ensures compliance with a variety of Federal, State, and local environmental regulations and permits, including but not limited to air, water, sewer, oil and chemical storage, spills and remediation, etc. by performing environmental sampling, conducting inspections and site surveys, providing training, maintaining records, and coordinate program activities with contractors and other departments.  This position reports to the Safety, Training and Environmental Compliance Manager and will assist with the development of policies and procedures, and in other EH&S programs as assigned.

Your Impact – What You will be Doing

  • You will be responsible for risk assessment, service delivery and management of middle market commercial accounts with premium size 100k or greater.
  • You will provide technical support services to underwriting, claims, sales, members and agency partners.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to assist with training objectives and conduct training.

What’s Needed for this Role

  • Risk management/loss control experience in the insurance industry with multi-line experience.
  • Strong relationship, marketing and consulting skills to interact with underwriting, agents, members and team.
  • BS/BA degree in safety related field preferred.  Desgination such as ARM or CSP required.
